Aiming at training researchers who focus on the life, health and
day-to-day life of diverse individuals and groups living in turbulent times.

Shigeaki Watanuki, PhD, RN

The social environment continues to change more than ever. The leadership of the nursing profession is required to respond appropriately with an eye on the life, health and day-to-day lives of the diverse individuals and groups living in this environment. As a basis for this, the following ability is necessary for the future researchers: to identify the essence of things and flexibly create ideas; to analyze and integrate data into verbalization; to communicate these to individuals and groups in society; and to lead those to systems, management. and policy changes.

This Graduate School offers the opportunity to learn advanced knowledge and skills in collaboration with the National Medical Research Centers for policy-based medicine and nursing. The Graduate School also provides a fulfilling environment where the students can study and work toward research that is linked to the advanced nursing practice. Additionally, the students can improve their research skills while closely supervised by experienced faculty members. The students can also experience friendly competition with their fellow students in this Graduate School. Acquiring a master's or doctoral degree would greatly broaden their scope of activities and contributions to the society.

I encourage you to realize what is going on in your nursing practice, and what can be done to solve your problems or questions, while warming up your ideal dreams. I invite you to knock on the door of this Graduate School to take the first step in improving your skills in research and practice.
